"Pretty Little Liars" (1. osa)
Sara Shepard

Alison, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer were best friends, until Alison disappeared. Three years later, the remaining girls, now juniors at Rosewood Day, are leading separate, but charmed lives.

After living in Iceland, Aria returns home sophisticated and worldly. Emily is a champion swimmer, Hanna is the most popular girl in school, and Spencer’s accomplishments make the average type-A valedictorian look like a slacker. But in Rosewood, appearances are deceiving, and when the girls start receiving mysterious texts signed by someone named A, the past threatens to ruin their perfect present. A claims to know all of their secrets—but who is A? How much does A really know? And what can four pretty little liars do to protect themselves from the truth? Find out in Pretty Little Liars.

"Flawless" (2. osa)
Sara Shepard

"A" taunts Emily about her sexuality and her growing feelings for Maya. Hanna is also pressured by "A" to tell Naomi and Riley, her rivals, that Sean dumped her and that she suffers from bulimia. Hanna is shocked when "A" also reveals that Sean is now interested in pursuing a relationship with Aria, who is still hiding her affair with Ezra. "A" tells Aria to either get rid of Meredith or to tell her mom the truth about Aria's father having an affair. "A" also reveals to Melissa that Spencer has been secretly dating Wren, Melissa's ex-boyfriend.

− Emily meets Toby out of school and they begin to have a relationship. Aria follows a tip from A and meets Meredith, Byrons lover, at a yoga workout. She tries to convince her to break up with her father, but she refuses, saying they're in love. Hanna is sentenced to help out at Sean's fathers burn clinic, and visits V Club hoping to rekindle her relationship with Sean. But Aria's discoveries drive her into Sean's arms, and they start a relationship instead. Spencer, infuriated by her parents cancelling her cards for seeing Wren, continues seeing him. But the stress of recent developments is causing Spencer's grades to fall, and she follows A's suggestion to plagiarize one of Melissa's Econ papers.

− − Things come to a head at the Foxy, a social party for charity. Hanna sneaks out from her dad-daughter dinner as it turns out to be a family gathering with her dad, Kate and Isabel, after getting a message that Sean is there with another girl. Emily gets a tarot reading that makes her face her sexuality and leaves with Toby, feeling upset. Spencer goes with Andrew, only to fool her family and meets Wren there, upsetting Andrew and making Spencer feel guilty. And Aria goes with Sean.

− Hanna is pissed when she finds the two together and pukes from stress. But Spencer has figured out that the messages mean A is at the dance, and thinks A is Toby. She gets Hanna and Aria and try to find Toby, but he left with Emily. Toby and Emily drive to a cornfield near Emily's house, and Emily admits she's gay. But some comments from Toby make her think he killed Alison, and she runs home. Toby tries to come in, but Emily says she knows what he did, and he panics and leaves. The next day, Hanna gets busted for giving a Percocet to Kate, and Spencer gets dumped by Wren, who wants to go back to Melissa, but Melissa doesn't want him and is planning to dump him later. The news of police cars at Emily's house gets the three out, but its Toby who's dead, a suicide. Jenna delivers a note that prompts Spencer to reveal the reason Alison caused Jenna's blindness: Toby molested Jenna, and the sight made Alison misfire. But Toby isn't A, since Emily gets one last message: It isn't over until A says it is!

"Perfect" (3. osa)
Sara Shepard

Aria becomes homeless after humiliating Meredith, her father's new girlfriend, and goes live with her new boyfriend, Sean Ackard. Although their romance came to terms in Flawless, she starts seeing her AP teacher again, Ezra Fitz, which makes her feel bad as she identifies to the main character in The Scarlet Letter for cheating on her boyfriend. "A" reveals Emily's secret which leads the Fieldses to oblige their daughter to solve her "problem" either way she will be sent to Iowa at her aunt's farm. Emily realizes she cannot change who she is and what she feels for Maya and the situation is soon discovered by her parents. Spencer is nominated at the Golden Orchids Awards for the essay she supposedly wrote and that actually belonged to her elder sister, Melissa and "A" threatens to reveal it if Spencer doesn't. Spencer finds out she has had a blackout when she was a kid and soon discovers she may have had one the night Alison disappeared. Hanna's friendship with Mona Vanderwaal is about to end as Mona believe she spends more time with her former seventh grade friends. Hanna gets comforted by Lucas, a boy who had had a crush on her in sixth grade before becoming unpopular. After getting humiliated at Mona's birthday party, Hanna receives a text from "A" and recognizes the number. She soon calls Aria, Emily and Spencer and asks them to meet her at the Rosewood Day playground in order to reveal who "A" is. After getting busted with Ezra by the police (who was sent by Sean after he received a text from "A" revealing Aria's secret), Aria watches her homemade videos from seventh grade and suddenly realizes Ian, Melissa's then boyfriend, and Alison might have been more than just acquaintances and that Spencer, by jealousy, could have killed Alison for that reason. On the playground, as Hanna tries to reach out to Aria and Emily, she is hit by a car before she can tell them who "A" is. As they are calling the emergencies, Aria and Emily notice Spencer looking the scene from the woods and quickly running away. The girls receive a text from A stating "She knew too much. -A"

"Unbelievable" (4. osa)
Sara Shepard

Hanna getting rundown by "A" (in the previous novel) but due to a head injury, she loses her memory of the previous day, thus forgetting "A"'s identity. After Emily's parents catch her with Maya at a party, they send her to live with relatives in Iowa. Depressed, Emily runs away, only coming back home when she sees her parents on the news, who tell Emily they love her and accept her sexuality. Emily breaks up with Maya when Maya sees her about to kiss Trista, a girl from Iowa who came to visit.

Aria is forced to move in with her father and his former student and fling, without wanting to; Meredith, who announces that she's pregnant and that she and Byron are to be married when Ella and Byron's divorce is finalized. While at a Hollis College art class, Aria befriends Jenna, who later reveals the real truth behind "The Jenna Thing", telling Aria that she and Alison had plotted together to get rid of Toby. Spencer's family discovers she cheated on her Golden Orchid essay, but keep it quiet to protect their reputation. Spencer confesses to Melissa about kissing Ian, as well as Ian's affair with Alison. She also admits that she's afraid she may have been involved with Alison's death. Soon, "A" starts targeting Mona as well, taunting her with things from the past, as well as what happened at her party with Hanna. Aria's brother, Mike begins to realize something is troubling his sister, and urges her to inform the police. Although worried about what "A" might do, Aria tells them about "A", and that he or she was the one who tried to kill Hanna.

The five girls begin to suspect Melissa as Ali's killer, and eventually, Spencer and Mona decide to go to the police station to turn her in. When Emily makes a sarcastic comment to Hanna, her memory is restored and she suddenly remembers "A"'s true identity: Mona. Aria, Emily and Hanna try to contact Spencer, but their constant texts makes Mona realize that they have figured it out. Mona drives to Floating Man's Quarry, along the way telling Spencer that she and Jenna used to be friends and knows the truth about "The Jenna Thing". She found Alison's diary the day Maya moved in and used the secrets inside it to taunt the girls as "A". Spencer accuses Mona of killing Alison, but Mona says that it was Ian who killed her, as Alison had blackmailed him about their relationship.

Meanwhile, Aria, Emily and Hanna drive to the police station and tell Darren Wilden about Mona and Spencer, when Spencer manages to inform them where she and Mona are. Mona tells Spencer that in the past few days she has grown to like her, although she originally planned to frame her for Alison's murder, and offers Spencer her life if she becomes "A" with her, as they could frame Melissa instead. Spencer refuses, and Mona attacks Spencer. In the struggle, Spencer accidentally pushes Mona off the cliff to her death.

Mona's body is recovered, and the truth about "A" is made public, which helps restore the girls' relationships with their families. Ian is arrested and the girls go to his court hearing, where he pleads not guilty. As they leave, the girls are relieved that they can move on with their lives and forget about "A", but Emily catches a glimpse of someone who resembles Alison and is unsure if that will ever happen.

"Wicked" (5. osa)
Sara Shepard

A new "A" appears and begins threatening the girls with more text messages. They think this "A" is Ian.

Emily realizes she is actually bisexual when she falls for Isaac, a boy she met at church, but keeps it a secret because she doesn't think anyone will understand. She is afraid of revealing her past to Isaac, but "A" eventually forces her to come out to him; Isaac accepts her for who she is. Hanna, desperate to be Queen Bee once more, forms a new "it" clique with her stepsister Kate Randall, Riley, and Naomi. After thinking about her new group's sweet behavior to her, Hanna comes to believe that Kate is working on Mona's unfulfilled plan to destroy Hanna's popularity. So, at the "school fund raiser" in Spencer's house, Hanna tells everyone Kate's secret on "A"'s advice and Lucas breaks up with Hanna for her being so bad.

Aria has feelings for a man, Xavier, who she met at an art show; however, he ends up dating her mother, putting her and Ella's shaky relationship at risk. Neglected by her family and feeling like an outsider, Spencer comes to believe that she is adopted when she is excluded from her grandmother's will, which bequeathed money to her "natural-born grandchildren". Andrew tells Spencer about a website which matches adopted children to their real mother.

Ian continues to deny killing Alison, and eventually the girls discover his body in the woods, and learn that he was murdered by "A", who is not Ian, as they get a message saying "He had to go."

"Killer" (6. osa)
Sara Shepard

The girls discover that the person they thought was Alison's murderer, Ian, has actually been framed. Emily has sex with her boyfriend, Isaac; his mother finds out and threatens Emily, leading to their breakup. Aria falls in love with Jason DiLaurentis, until he becomes cold and distant. Spencer meets a woman named Olivia Caldwell who she thinks is her real mother, and attempts to move to New York. However, it turns out to be a scam, and Spencer loses all her college money after using it to buy an apartment in New York City so she could be near Olivia. The apartment turns out to be fake, revealing that Olivia was just using Spencer to gain money, seeing as how the real estate agent Olivia recommended was actually Olivia's husband.

At the opening party for Radley, a former so-called "haven for troubled youth", Emily finds proof that Jason DiLaurentis had been a patient there after stumbling into the attic and finding the old log-in/log-out book., and soon Hanna, Spencer, Aria and Emily all come to believe that Jason and Darren Wilden had something to do with Ali's murder. Before Ian's death, he had confirmed their suspicions about Jason and Wilden. Someone sets the woods behind Spencer's house on fire. The girls see someone who they believe to be Alison, actually alive, running away from the fire.

"Heartless" (7. osa)
Sara Shepard

After the fire, no one believes the girls when they insist that they saw Alison, and they themselves start to believe they hallucinated it. "A" sends Emily to Lancaster, where she discovers that an Amish girl named Leah disappeared around the time of Ali's death. Emily also discovers that Darren Wilden had been Amish and left the community; she believes he killed Leah and is not to be trusted.

Thinking that she is being visited by Alison's ghost, Aria goes to a séance; she learns nothing, but meets Noel Kahn, who she grows close to and later kissed after he comes to her defense at a party. Aria sees another medium, who produces a message in Ali's handwriting that says "Ali killed Ali".

Hanna's father sends her to a clinic to prevent her eating disorder from reappearing due to stress from the Ali situation, and to cure her PTSD. Hanna befriends another patient named Iris, who she later begins to suspect had something to do with Alison's death.

"A" sends Spencer messages that lead Spencer to discover that at one point her father had been having an affair with Ali's mother. Spencer realizes the possibility that Ali and Jason are her half-siblings, and is led to believe that her mother may have killed Ali because of it. Spencer confronts her parents, but her mother is shocked to hear about the affair for the first time.

Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna are all arrested for Ali's murder; together in a jail cell, they realize that "A" has tricked each of them into believing someone else killed Ali. Wilden releases the girls and tells them that Billy Ford killed Ali; Emily recognizes him as one of the men working on Ali's gazebo. Billy is also charged for Jenna Cavanaugh's murder, and the reader is left wondering whether Billy was "A" or not.

"Wanted" (8. osa)
Sara Shepard

With Alison's killer on trial, the Liars think they can relax. However, they're shocked to learn of the existence of Alison's twin, Courtney, when she's introduced at a press conference. Courtney had spent her life in institutions (due to "health issues"), and her existence was kept secret by her family. Newly released, she attempts to resume her sister's life and begins tentative friendships with Ali's old friends, even striking up a romantic relationship with Emily, who is overjoyed. Courtney later reveals proof that she is the real Alison, explaining that her twin, Courtney, pretended to be her on the night of the murder. Although skeptical at first, the girls slowly begin to trust Alison.

Although Spencer believes that Melissa is Courtney's killer, Alison shocks the girls by revealing that she is both A and the killer. The "Alison" the Liars had befriended years ago was actually Courtney; Courtney had managed to trick everyone into thinking she was Alison, while the real Alison was sent to the Preserve. Angry at the Liars for unknowingly ruining her life, Alison attempted to kill the girls in the forest fire, killed Jenna (who knew about Alison and Courtney being twins), and now plans to kill them by trapping them inside the DiLaurentis' Poconos house and setting it on fire. The girls discover that Alison also murdered Ian and kidnapped Melissa, who they free before escaping the burning house via a secret passage Aria remembers hiding in to scare Jason a few years ago.

Trapped inside the house, Alison is presumed dead, although her body is never found. After the fire, Emily visits Courtney's grave in attempt to put her memory to rest. However, at the conclusion of the book, it is hinted that Alison in fact survived the fire and moved to a new town, under a new name (which is an anagram of Alison DiLaurentis).

"Twisted" (9. osa)
Sara Shepard

Spring break of junior year, the girls go on vacation in Jamaica, where they encounter a girl who they believe is Alison, thinking she survived the fire. The girls are attacked by "Ali" on top of the hotel in Jamaica, and in an attempt to save Hanna, Aria shoves Ali off the roof, seemingly killing her.

A year later, the girls have parted ways once again. Aria has trouble dealing with the Kahn's new foreign exchange student, Klaudia, who creates rifts in Aria's relationship with Noel, wanting to steal him from Aria. In a fit of anger, Aria pushes Klaudia off a ski-lift, injuring her. Emily befriends a new girl, Chloe, and reveals that she'd gotten pregnant from having sex with Isaac and secretly gave birth to a baby girl in Philadelphia over the summer, which she gave up for adoption. Emily is now panicked about getting a swimming scholarship, her only option for college; Chloe's dad offers to help, but makes sexual advances towards Emily, ruining her friendship with Chloe.

Patrick, a photographer, offers Hanna a modeling job, after seeing her act and look better than her stepsister, Kate, who has won her father over, however he turns out to be a liar who is trying to have sex with Hanna and blackmails her with a racy photo of her partially naked. Hanna steals money from her dad's campaign fund to pay Patrick and frames Jeremiah, one of her father's campaign workers. Mrs. Hastings becomes engaged to a man named Nicholas Pennythistle and Spencer develops feelings for Zach, his son. After Zack confesses that he's gay, Spencer promises to keep his secret. However, she accidentally blurts it out after Mr. Pennythistle misunderstands a situation and beats up Zach, accusing him of sleeping with Spencer. It hinted that Spencer also ruined the life of a girl she went to an academic summer program with in order to get into Princeton.

Throughout the book, the girls are tormented with notes from a new "A" who knows what happened in Jamaica, as well as all their other new secrets. The body of the girl they pushed off the roof is found; the Liars learn her name is Tabitha and realize that they killed an innocent person.

"Ruthless" (10. osa)
Sara Shepard

It is revealed that last summer while Spencer was dork taking AP courses at Penn, she began taking speed pills, nicknamed "Easy A" as a way to help with studying. After being arrested by the police for possession, she arranges for Hanna to help her frame her roommate, Kelsey, as a dealer, in order for Spencer to not face charges. After landing the role of Lady Macbeth in the school play, the stress and guilt begin to take their toll on Spencer, causing her to have frequent hallucinations in which she is haunted by Kelsey and Tabitha. She becomes paranoid and begins to believe Kelsey is A and is taking revenge on her for being framed.

Emily accidentally meets Kelsey at a party and is instantly smitten with her. She and Kelsey grow close, much to Spencer's disapproval. After Emily is hurt by Spencer's remarks about her love for Alison, she angrily tells Kelsey that Spencer framed her for the drug possession. Depressed, Kelsey overdoses and attempts to throw herself into the quarry where Mona died, but Emily saves her and Kelsey is sent to the Preserve for treatment. While visiting Kelsey, the girls realize that Tabitha was also a patient at the Preserve and was the same age as Alison and Courtney.

Hanna's father recruits her to help with the social media aspect of his campaigning. She meets a boy named Liam, who she falls for, despite knowing he is the son of her father's political opponent. They break up when she learns he has been seeing multiple other girls while dating her. In an angry rage, Hanna reveals secrets that Liam told her to her father, secrets that could destroy Liam's father's reputation. It is also revealed that Kate knew about Hanna and Liam's secret relationship, and she offers to help Hanna take Liam down. And after Aria is dumped by Noel, she seeks out comfort in Ezra, in hopes of rekindling their romance. However, things are strained between them, Aria enters back into a relationship with Noel, after discovering Ezra and Klaudia being intimate.

The Liars attempt to circumvent A's threats by coming clean about their secrets, with varied success. Meanwhile, A becomes more violent, attempting to kill Emily by pushing her off a small cliff. A sends Spencer an email of Tabitha on the beach with a head injury, indicating that A was the one who disposed of Tabitha's body. A taunts the Liars, stating they will never discover A's true identity.

===Two more books are set to be released, one during Summer 2012 and the other in 2013. The 11th book in the series is called Stunning and is set to be released June 1st 2012.

"Pretty Little Secrets"
Sara Shepard

Rewind to junior year in Rosewood, Pennsylvania, to a winter break no one has ever heard about . . . Fat snowflakes fall onto manicured lawns, quilted stockings hang over marble fireplaces, and everyone is at peace, especially Hanna, Emily, Aria, and Spencer. Now that Alison’s murderer is in jail and A is dead, they can finally relax. Little do they know there's a new A in town . . . Rule number one of being an effective stalker: Get to know your prey. So I watch these liars day and night, keeping an eye on the trouble they get into, the messes they make, and the secrets they keep. Hanna’s desperate for a very personal session with her gym trainer. Emily is number one on Santa’s naughty list. Aria’s old flame from Iceland is about to land her in hot water. And Spencer’s resorting to some backhanded tactics to get what she wants. What happens on holiday break stays on holiday break—right? But guess what. I saw. And now I’m telling.

Taking place between Unbelievable and Wicked, Pretty Little Secrets is a very special Pretty Little Liars tale revealing the liars’ never-before-seen misadventures over their junior-year winter break.[2]

Emily: Emily is asked to go undercover as Santa Claus at the new mall, in order to catch 4 girls who work as elves there, who are suspected of vandalizing Christmas decorations around town, including Emily's mom's baby Jesus ceramic figure. The 4 girls, who call themselves the "Merry Elves", take a liking to Emily, and it is revealed that one of the girls, Cassie, was close with Alison. Emily accompanies the girls on their biggest prank yet, but Emily's mom uses her phone to track her, and the Merry Elves get caught. In the end, the elves forgive Emily after she bails them out of jail. In the end, everyone realizes the true meaning of Christmas, but Emily can't shake off the weird feeling that someone is following her.

Spencer: Spencer and her family go to her Nana's mansion in Florida, and Spencer falls in love with a tennis player named Colin at the country club. Melissa seems to be helping Spencer win Colin's heart, but Colin ends up taking an interest in Melissa. During the trip, Spencer and her mother also run into Mrs Dilaurentis several times, and Spencer is confused by her morther's strange behavior around Mrs Dilaurentis. Spencer also decides to fight for Colin. After Colin dumps Melissa to go out with her, Spencer discovers he actually has a wife and child, and he is 33 years old. Spencer and Melissa decide to team up to get revenge on Colin by putting crushed Viagra in his Aminospa vitamin water right before his important tennis game. In the end, they all have a fun vacation, but Spencer worries that someone has been following her.

Aria: Aria goes with her father and Mike to Bear Claw Resort, but leaves to go back home after finding out that Byron invited Meredith along as well. Upon arriving at home, she is surprised by her boyfriend from Iceland, Halbjorn. Halbjorn tells her that he's running fom the Icelandic police who are after him because he protested against the demolition of a puffin sanctuary. Unfortunately, his travel visa only lasts for a week. Aria proposes the idea of marrying him, and the two head off to Atlantic City to get married. At the hotel, they attend a magic show involving two panthers, which angers Halbjorn, who cares a lot about the environment. After getting married the following day, which requires Aria to forge her mother's signature and lie about her age, they go to the place where the panthers are kept. After convincing Halbjorn not to release the panthers, they go back to the hotel. The next morning, Aria wakes up to find Halbjorn gone and his clothes missing as well. On the lobby's TV, Aria sees that Halbjorn released the panthers after all. Aria goes to the courthouse and confesses to forging Ella's signature, making the marriage null and void. Upon returning to Rosewood, she is joined by Mike and Byron, who know nothing about her marriage. As they watch TV, it shows that Halbjorn has been caught, and it also shows that he has done these things in the past, including trying to blow up a demolition office. Aria is satisfied with breaking up with him, but is paranoid about someone following her.

Hanna: Hanna joins a boot camp after thinking she gained too much weight at a holiday party. She develops feelings for the instructor, Vince. She also develops a rival, Dinah, another girl who also likes Vince. After competing for Vince's affection, she and Dinah become friends after catching Kate making out with the mall's new Santa (prior to Emily), something which Hanna also photographs. After agreeing to stop chasing Vince, she celebrates by going out for drinks with Dinah, where Dinah admits she knew Alison. Hanna goes home drunk, causing her to oversleep. As she arrives at boot camp, she discovers Vince and Dinah kissing, revealing that Dinah only pretended to be friends with Hanna to have Hanna let down her guard. Hanna flees the scene, devastated, and is confronted by Kate, who, after receiving a tip-off, followed Hanna around, taking unflattering photos of her at boot camp, which she threatens to put on Facebook. Hanna counterattacks by showing Kate the pictures of her and Santa, causing Kate to back off. Hanna also improves her relationship with her father, who gives Hanna her grandmother's Cartier locket for Christmas. Hanna has a happy Christmas, despite the fact that she thinks someone other than Kate has been watching her every move.

The book ends with a sign-off from the new A, who says that the Liars' lives are going to get a lot worse.
